This poll ended on September 24, 2007 and a couple of days before the poll ended there was one message posted to the BBQ Forum about this poll.

Hi, all. I'm very much enjoying the new poll section of this site, and find many of the results interesting. I was surprised with the results of the current poll showing just 20% of folks not competing. I would have thought it might be the other way around (ie - only 20% of folks competing). I'm wondering if it's just that the competition folks are way more active in taking the poll, and that there are many other Forum lurkers/posters who are neither competing nor participating in the poll. Or maybe I'm just as out of touch with this as I am with most other issues.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. It's Friday afternoon and I'm just finishing up work. It's beautiful outside, so I'm going to get in a little exercise then it's on to some outdoor cooking and perhaps a cold beverage or 9. Have great weekends, everyone.

Well, when this poll was suggested I was real happy to run it because I thought this poll would start to show how many competition cooks visit the forum.  We only get a small number of the people that visit the BBQ Forum each month to participate in the polls.  As it turned out there were a significant number of competition cooks that voted in this poll.
